Magic coins, in two colours, now scattered all over the world so they have to be liberated by the heroes and stolen by the villains. Chases and fights around museums and auction houses, like in The Mummy movies.

They have to be inserted into a strange steampunk device in a certain order, solving a puzzle and stopping the other side making a line of four. Because whoever can Connect Four will rule the world!

... And then Buffy and Hellboy burst in and beat the bad guys up before they can drop the fourth coin.

FFG have the licence for Star Wars hobby games.

This'll probably mean a big lots-of-nice-plastic-minis game like Descent at some point. Maybe chasing around the Death Star, with lots of cardstock corridors and white plastic Stormtroopers, temping me to buy it even if I never play it?

And it might mean a shiny Dark Heresy RPG. Or a lots-of-little-bits-for-players-to-lose game like their variant of WFRP. Still, it's not the first time Star Wars has been attached to a system I don't get or want. It's also the most hacked licenced setting, seems like just about every game gets the "can you do Star Wars with it?" test at some point. I've played it in first and revised edition WEG, first edition d20, Feng Shui, Cinematic Unisystem, boffer LARP, non-boffer LARP...

Rerelease Space Hulk

And yes, it'll cost about as much as nWFRP for a big box, a bunch of special dice and counters. But it's a game that should have a big box and special dice and counters. So there.

I could talk about Stephen Hawking being alive despite the wicked NHS Sandmen's best efforts to kill him, but I imagine my grumpiness about what is now being called Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay would make for more amusing and less furious reading.

Although I'm half tempted to buy a Dictaphone so I can podcast Liam's response...

Despite not caring (see below) I went along to Claymore, partially because it has moved to the new Telford College building and the last time I was in there it was still being built.

Quite nice it is too.

Saw a couple folk, and [livejournal.com profile] boxninja challenged me to do this review.

So here we are. )

So there you go. As ever, it encouraged me to make my Conpulsion games that bit more drop-in-friendly.

Pegasus includes playable Cylon leaders with random Agenda cards that change their victory conditions.

Making a common viewer complaint into a rule amuses me greatly.
