These days when I hear "X vs..." I think of the rash of collaborative singles that were credited in that way.

Buffy vs Run DMC
Buffy vs Faith No More
Buffy vs Girls Aloud
Etc.

I suppose you could do that in two ways. Either have the band be evil and Buffy going up against them, or it could be a team-up to take on a demonic record company boss.
