Apparently we've got a shot at -20 temperatures out of town tonight. Unlike, say, Montreal, we really don't have the setup to handle that for any length of time. Wheee.
Actually, I think -20 with you guys would feel colder than -20 with us. Over here it,s a dry cold, but even +2 in Scotland can feel much colder due to the damp. It seeps into your bones and you feel like you'll never be warm again. TBH, I found my first winter here much more agreeable than i though I would once I realised that -40 and dry doesn't really feel that bad, especially if you wear the right clothes. _2 and wet? doesn't matter what you wear, you'll feel it.
Having icicles on eye lashes has only happened to me once, but (ok going to be a bit gross here) a runny nose freezes pretty much instantly and that is how you know it's a really cold day. When it is super cold the steam on my glasses freezes too (I am silly enough to have my chin tucked into my jacket collar and not wear contacts.)
definintely feeling it out here in the sticks (kirknewton) -8 this morning at 10am, and same again when we got home at 5pm.. with no clouds in the sky...
