Three weeks after Christmas, and I'm still not done. Mostly because I've now been gazumped on eBay for the (long out of production) figure I need to steal the head for William twice, someone else has fallen silent after we made a deal for it direct, and I fully expect to be gazumped again because the current auction for the head ends at 9pm on Sunday, when I'll presumably be out running TWH inna first place. Bastardry on all sides.

On the other hand, if I want a head for new character Lucian Weeks, it should be less of a problem in a month or so. Here's why.

New guy, played by new guy, as of Season 5. Cast as David Tennant, which breaks my policy of not casting the stars of current genre series and films, but it wasn't my call to make.

Coming Soon advert from the time of the figure cards (http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b175/craigoxbrow/ComingSoon.jpg)

(Sean Biggerstaff as previously-mentioned other new guy Simon is less rankling... but harder to find a figure for.)

Featherstonehough? That's a hell of a name. I like it!

And season 5? Geez. We're so behind on this side of the Pond.

Pronounced "Fanshore".

(At least he wasn't a Cholmondley on his mother's side.)

Just a tad behind, yes...

There really should be a caveat attached to the name showing how it's pronounced. :-)

I have no idea where the pronunciation comes from, but apparently that's the way it's done.

Cheers

There should! Merkins aren't used to those eighteen syllable names. It confuses us!

One of those weird language things, I guess.

See also Leicester, and the less famous example of Strathaven (pronounced Straven).

And Worcestershire!

I did not know Strathaven. Now I know. And knowing, etc etc.

And places like Bicester, pronounced 'Bister'. The vagiaries of the English language are strange at times.

That's why we love it so.

On an unrelated-to-weird-names note, Ms Big Pile Of Dust has used a figure I traded to her (http://msbig.sashapowell.co.uk/mbmainjonathanb4m.htm), thereby demonstrating how much faster she is as well as how much more skilled.
