Joss open letter spoilery thing

Joss interview spoilery thing

Gratuitous Inception-soundtracked trailer.

The last issue's out. Looping back to the first, and to Welcome To the Hellmouth, as well as looking ahead and bringing one more surprise. (Edmund?)

In time for Buffy's birthday. She's thirty. How did that happen?

It's been a long, strange ride. When it started The Watch House was still ongoing, we had a Prime Minister who'd actually been elected rather than the two since who haven't, Heroes was still good(!) and Firefly was the last TV show Joss had created.

I'm tempted to go back over the forty issues and spinoffs and one-shots and see what a twenty-two-episode TV-type season would look like, with four-part stories becoming an episode or two depending on how much stuff happens in them.

Things I liked, things I didn't like, things that made me go pouty lip - comics can't make me cry but they can make me go pouty lip - for good or ill, nice slightly cartoony art that sometimes felt too bright and bouncy for the subject matter and rarely helped the atmosphere, things that seemed wonky for the setting and also things that were awesomes.

Not my favourite season but not my least (guess which!) either.

Dunno where it would put post-S8 spinoffs. It's one of those "what now?" hiatuses until season nine, rather than one of those "carry on regardless" ones. Not that I'm planning to go back to the ol' Buffyverse any time soon, 'cept for one-shots an' PBPs an' such which can all float in non-specific timeframes as granted by the almost-four-year-long season.
