So this cold decided it wasn't uncomfortable enough and gave me an ear infection. So I was in hospital at 7.30 yesterday morning after my ear started leaking this orangey clear stuff, getting antibiotics. So for Easter I have pain, discomfort, tiredness, no sense of taste and stuff leaking out of me.

And the great big Doctor Who special was a slightly longer than normal Doctor Who episode. By comparison, this week's Primeval took a fall in the ratings but totally pwned as entertainment.

Well we watched Spearhead from Space. Definitely an enjoyable Doctor Who story, and a superb entrance for Jon Pertwee.

I take it the current one suffered from the new series' typical inability to follow tangents and overly fast pacing? We decided that that was one of the things that really made old Doctor Who, as you could spend some time looking at the scenery and developing characters.

Not really, it was so thin it could have stood to be faster. Of course, I don't have the patience for many of the old stories - but half the new writers don't have the skill to really work to a 45-minute slot. Compare how many ideas get packed into a Buffy season opener or a mid-season two-parter.

Downloaded the other big easter show too, Red Dwarf.

My advice to you, if you haven't already watched it is DON'T.

Go read the transcript for the TWH ep The Fourth Wall. We did it so much better, and funnier.

What the hell's a Channel Dave anyway? Some kind of satellite beast?

Indeed - a channel built largely around British comedy deemed "smart but unpretentious", in theory like guys called David who respond to Dave. Which matches all the Daves I know - hello Daves!
