Dr. Strange is cleaned up and formatted, ready to join the 600 other revivals of old characters EPIC has received so far. Meanwhile, somewhat ironically as I'm not remotely considering illustrating my own comics work, I'm doodling away for a fellow RPGnet forumite's Mutants And Masterminds ebook supplement. Serial art I can't really do, but one-off pieces I can sort of manage. Plus, it's a book about grossly high power levels, so it's an excuse to draw weird-looking characters blowing up city blocks and fighting monsters bigger than city blocks. And possibly Martians.
(I love Calvin And Hobbes.)
Meanwhile, I'm jotting down ideas for the second Book Of Archetypes for All Flesh Must Be Eaten, plugging a few fairly obvious gaps, and having fun with the character quotes.
Speaking of fun with character quotes, I'm partially responsible for one of the most popular supporting characters in a Buffy game played in Australia with fans throughout the world. More on this when I twist the GM's arm about updating the series webpage...
bruceb commented one of my ideas on RPGnet, using the "before and after" stages of character creation in Adventure! for the Real World and the Matrix with a few other suggestions, thus:
"Do what Craig suggests and all will be well.
Craig, that's freakin' brilliant."
This sort of thing isn't supposed to happen...
And now a confession, also from RPGnet: I love the Edinburgh Festivals. As a resident I'm supposed to hate it, but as a geek for several art forms I love it. This year I got to see Mike Daisey's 21 Dog Years and Bill Bailey: Part Troll on the Fringe, Ash at T On The Fringe (mmm, Charlotte) several weird late night movies (some previews, some highly unlikely to get a release) and a live panel discussion with Warren Ellis, Harvey Pekar and family, and Bryan Tablot on comics adaptations at the Film Festival... And this wasn't even that great a year. I didn't go to anything at the Book Festival, unlike the three things in two days (Neil Gaiman twice and Iain Banks) last year...
