Top Ten Monsters That Were Never in Buffy, but Should Have Been (TV series only)

Skeletons and dragons would have been a shoo-in, but one each appeared for a single shot...

10: A solid non-robot doppelganger of Buffy.
9: A talking animal.
8: R.O.U.S.s.
7: A Siren.
6: Goblins.
5: A tiny Gremlin-type thing.
4: A giant.
3: Elves.
2: The ghost of a person whose body became a vampire.
1: The Frankenstein Monster. (Sure, there was reanimation in Some Assembly Required but I mean the Creature himself.)

The number of these appearing in The Watch House is not coincidental...

Goblins, elves, giant and elves all present in mine. And the rest I think I'll be putting in when/if we ever get back to it! (Frankenstein's Monster in particular is sheer brilliance).

In no particular order...

A huge manifested True Demon that wasn't a big old snake, play with some Godzilla or King Kong tropes.

Some other mystic humans, other witches and psychics (though Angel ended up doing that).

A demon that was a nod to 1980's teen slasher films.

Future versions of Buffy and the Scoobies, sent back in time by magic.

A glimpse at what happened to Tara post mortem (higher being? simple ghost?)

Better looking werewolvesw (which is something else we got on Angel).

Other agents of the Powers That Be (also Angel).

Some kind of otherworldly court. Seelie Court, Duke of Hell, something inbetween.

More Gods. There was Glory and a big floating head calling itself Osiris, but folks like Thor or Hermes would be fun.

Buttercup the Vampire Unicorn. Just because.

Three of these being covered in Angel means I counted them as, well, covered. They faked the "future versions" in Hell's Bells. I imagine Thor would have been a bit like Olaf from Triangle but that would also have been fun. And the Mayor was going to be Godzilla, but then they made the American Godzilla which was "a big dumb lizard that was not the real Godzilla"...

Buttercup would obviously have to be Harmony's new minion. Or vice versa.
