The main NPC victim of circumstance is to be retconned rather thoroughly in writeup. Which I might get to soon, since a large minority of the group missed it and this one has to be seen to be disbelieved.

Someone was clearly depressed at the Doctors' jukebox, judging by Coldplay being followed by Jeff Buckley's Hallelujah followed by an incoherently-bleak version of Somewhere Over The Rainbow...

The Superbowl with some guys I haven't seen in ages. Wasn't a very good game due to some wonky calls and some high school levels of pass completion, but it was a good social hanging-out event.

In the US, this is THE DAY for advertising. Sure, we don't much care about the big expensive adverts for American telephone companies and the like... but we very much do care about the movie trailers.

Sure, we can see most of them online but would it kill them to spend the ten bucks or so that Superbowl advertising costs in the UK so we could get the Pirates Of The Caribbean 2 teaser instead of that BLOODY advert for the SUV with that cretin jumping off the hill for the eighteenth time?
