Johnny Depp won the Screen Actors' Guild award for Best Actor for his role as future action figure Captain Jack Sparrow Pirates Of The Caribbean.

An' I think 'at's bloody fantastic!

And Return of the King won Best Ensemble, which is a nice little award.

This does mean the local Forbidden Planet's toy shelves are going to be full of toys of SAG winners...

Idea I had after the BAFTAs, reminded by today's awards

This from my "not gonna get away with that one" file for TWH:

A tanned wise woman speaking on a white beach under a brilliant tropical sky.

Wise woman: We require the book. The world depends upon it. When next the light of day strikes it, there you shall find it. Now go!

She carves a mystic symbol in the air and her face is lit by a flash of white light...

And we cut to Escher's office, as a collection of antique books arrives.

Escher: Some of these can't have seen the light of day for two hundred years...

William duly stacks them and heads out... and then the last rays of the sun hit the shelf, and one book in particular... And then there's a flash of white light and a portal forms in the air, like a tornado, at the book's height, and a figure falls through!

Landing on Escher's desk with a yell, a thud and a winded groan, he rolls off onto the floor. A shaky hand grabs the edge of the desk and the new arrival hauls himself up and looks around.
