Now begin the Days of the King!

In the unlikely event you haven't heard, Return of the King swept the board at the Oscars. As a fan I'm delighted, although as a jaded media cynic I'm also aware that, according to the Academy, this makes it slightly less a film than the equally-successful and more-nominated Ben Hur and Titanic. Right...

And no Supporting Actor nom for Andy Serkis. Or Sir Ian McKellen. Or Sean Astin.

And no Oscar for Bill Murray. Or Johnny Depp. Yes, Sean Penn was great so that ain't so bad.

Ah well. Roll on next year's Empire Awards.

Walking In The Air?!

As a result of hearing and seeing Walking In The Air at Bobby's by the video jukebox, following a performance of London Calling which consisted of the drunken table going "London Calling, mumble... Live by the river!":

Cat: Is it even close to Christmas? No! I know it's been snowing all the time, but...
