All the best Captains have a K-sound in their name
Kirk. Spock. McCoy. (And Scotty and Chekov. Sulu only has one in his first name, and Uhura in her original actress.) Almost every Klingon ever. Picard. Riker. Crusher. (Okay, it's not a perfect system.) Sisko. Kira. Archer has half of one. Janeway only has one in her first name, and she spells it with a Y so that doesn't count.
I don't know what this says about Gene Roddenberry (no K-sounds anywhere).
freakcrab is pondering rebooty actiony Star Trek and I may be up as Captain. Which leads to the second most important name (after the ship, of course). And after some deliberation I've chosen Carter.
Also, G is the important letter to have in Middle-Earth. Discuss.
