You know, I think there's one important thing that separates our feelings on this movie: I didn't particularly care about seeing a large number of monsters fight each other. I'm not much for army fights- in fact, with the notable exception of Helm's Deep, I found the last two Lord of the Rings movies slightly dull for that very reason. That said, the gangster-movie shootouts from the end of the first Underworld weren't bad.
Also, seeing movies with Gecko Phantom makes them better. It's always fun when somebody taps you on the shoulder a quarter-way into a movie and says "that's exactly the kind of emotional clearheadedness you will never see in our game."
